exceptional Terompah-things to know

Now that we have come this far, most of you should already get the rough view on terompah. ^_^

It is unique and different.

                             

 Its traditional value need to be preserved by all as it is one of the earliest types of footwear there is. It could even be thought as the walking legend that still walk this earth. The special thing about it is that it continue to evolve. From plain and simple, long and short, to diverse color and style.

 Now, there is still even the type that is yet to be known...
 What I'm about to show you is another type of different Terompah... the BIG one XD

Just as you thought it is all over and nothing more will surprise you, terompah is here again! 

This is one of the many big terompah in this world, some could even fit the whole body! This pictures were taken at  Malaysia International Shoe Festival 2011 by Billy Foo. Nice pic! :D

Its function and use

Terompah use and function?? Why need to ask? It’s for your foot! Everybody knows that.   :O

                                               

Most of you out there might think this way at first glance of the title, but have you think of what beyond our first glance are? Don’t worry though because it is natural to have such thoughts   :D

ANdddddd…. Here we are!! The awesomeness of terompah!

Fun  activities

Because terompah come with different sizes and shape, some would use it for fun and games ;D

The common games is involved balancing using terompah since it is quite high and for those who do not used to wear it, such experience is one to be remembered

                   

So what is other than for fashion and protection of the feet? This is! XD

Dancing!

       

Terompah can also be used for activities like dancing and making music. The tap sounds that were made from hiting the ground by itself made quite a good rhythm. In many country, dancing using terompah was quite common and even be made as an occupation. Imagine, having fun while working. Every workers dream  >___<  *at least for me

There are a lot more functions that terompah could offer! But I will stop here for now.. why? To make you all go out there and explore its wonder yourself! YEAH!

characteristic: the nature of Terompah

Terompah is really were amazing and valuables. The things that made terompah what it is apart from the skills of the maker, is... Tree. That's right. Simple, Tree and wood. The same thing :D I know.

 

Like any products, terompah also used tree as one of its sources.

However, not all tree can be used to create this masterpiece. The most general tree that being used are pine tree, Durian's tree, poplar and willow tree. Although not a tree, tyres are one of the components used in the making process. The elastic attributes that a Tyre offer, could help in producing a long lasting Terompah.

                                                             

Everyday, roughly 20 sets of wooden clog were made by the maker using this very component. The cost of making this product can be cut down by the use of Durian tree that is much cheaper and durable. A two in one package. Although different maker uses different component, the comfortable use of terompah and its rarity remains the same.

Terompah is different than other types of slippers because it use wood as its main base. Continuation from my previous post, each gender have its special design made for that particular gender. For men, it apply the usual and  casual types of design to display men's charm. Most of the Terompah made for men were simple and use the real color of the woods.

As there are for men, there are also for women. Just like what can be seen here, although it almost look the same to the naked eye  it is actually not. For women, the shape is different and color is different making the Terompah more suited for women. The touch up of color made it a good approach for females customer.
